Lovable vs Emergent in 2026: which AI app builder fits your idea?

Updated 2026-10-17 · 4 min read

Verdict: Pick Emergent if you need a mobile app as well as web: its Standard plan ($20/month, or $17 billed annually) lists building web and mobile apps, and Pro ($200) adds a 1M context window and custom agents. Pick Lovable for web apps with hosting, backend and in-app AI all on one credit balance, Git sync on every plan, and better-documented free usage: 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month. Both start with 100 monthly credits on the entry paid plan. The credits aren't comparable, so test the same prompt on both.

Credits and limits

Lovable charges Plan mode at 1 credit per message. Build mode depends on the work: Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits (“make the button gray”) to 2.00 (a landing page with images). Chat has its own daily allowance, which is a temporary pricing model through October 31, 2026. Hosting and backend use the same balance, and backend services pause if the balance hits zero, though your published site stays live. Top-ups on Pro are $15 per 50 credits. Emergent's pricing page lists monthly credit amounts (10 Free, 100 Standard, 750 Pro). The fetched pages didn't show how many credits a typical action costs, top-up prices or rollover rules, so check them before committing. Emergent pricing (opens in a new tab)

The gamer angle

Neither is built for games. For a quick mobile mini-game prototype, Emergent's mobile support is the closer fit. For real games, use Rosebud AI or a coding agent with an engine. See how to make a game with AI and the game dev guide.
